Frequently asked questions

Students will be accepted depending on space availability in a class/grade to which the student wishes to enroll and whether appropriate educational programs or services are available to the student.  All applications will be considered on an equal basis. Once accepted, students must maintain acceptable grades and behaviors as stated in the student handbook, or can be subject to removal from ICS.
Does Islesboro Central have sports teams?

Yes! Currently, Islesboro Central School boasts Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross Country, and Sailing Team.

What is the student/teacher ratio?

5.3 teachers to every 1 student. We pride ourselves on individualized student support.

What is the commute like?

The Maine State Ferry Service (MFS) runs the Margaret Chase Smith, a 170 foot car and pedestrian ferry, every hour. Students and many staff members commute on a daily basis, free of charge.

What grades are included in the Magnet Program?

The Magnet Program is currently available to grades 6-12.

Do you offer a discount for multiple children?

Yes, we currently offer small discounts for multiple children from the same family.

Do you offer Financial Assistance?

At this time, we do not offer Financial Assistance as our rates are extremely competitive.
