​At Islesboro Central School, our goal is to provide opportunities for all students to pursue their unique talents. We believe all students deserve individual attention and a strong educational foundation to prepare them for life in the 21st century. The community and setting offer unique resources that give students an advantage in College and beyond. The results speak for themselves, with a graduation rate and college placement rate of 100%, Islesboro graduates are routinely accepted at some of the top colleges and universities in the nation. The school builds on traditional island values of self-reliance, civic-mindedness, neighbor-helping-neighbor, tolerance, ingenuity, conservation, and stewardship to prepare its students for a lifetime of success.

Islesboro Central School, and the entire Islesboro community, is dedicated to educational excellence for all kinds of students. With a student - teacher ratio of 5:1, every student receives individual attention, and faculty have the flexibility and freedom to engage each student in the ways that fit them best. ICS offers a variety of unique programs and individualized curriculum, to excellent result.

At Islesboro Central School, students have the chance to explore their passions, build leadership skills, and be part of something bigger. Whether it’s athletics, music, or student-led initiatives, there’s a place for everyone to get involved.

Through the Magnet Student Program, students from the mainland can attend Islesboro Central School. Magnet students commute to the island daily via the ferry, and bring diversity and new perspectives to the student body, while integrating into the unique island community.

Faculty and staff at ICS are invested in students far beyond the classroom. Whether it’s sharing the daily ferry commute, or interacting outside of school on the island, these personal relationships support and inform the entire school community.
